About BAAPT CEs

MBTI MPCP logo
by Michael Murphy
BAAPT is enrolled as a "program provider" for the MBTI® Master Practitioner Credential Program and is eligible to deliver continuing education credits to MBTI® Master Practitioner candidates.  Credits can also be applied to NBCC and APA.  The MBTI® Master Practitioner Credential Program is owned by CPP, Inc. of Mountain View, CA, and is administered by CAPT (Center for Applications of Psychological Type, Inc., Gainsville FL).  For more information, see mbtimasterpractitioner.org, cpp.com and capt.org.  updated 27 Mar 2013

          Terminology and Credits

Effective with the February 2012 program, the number of continuing education credits offered for BAAPT morning programs will be 2.5 rather than 3.  The number of credits offered is calculated based on actual instruction time; breaks and announcement time cannot be included.

In addition, we will be using the acronym CE rather than CEU.  "CEU" has a distinct meaning:   a continuing education unit actually represents ten hours of instruction in a recognized continuing education program.  "CE" refers to continuing education credits, where one hour of instruction equals one (1) CE.

                 How to Apply for
           Master Practitioner CEs

  1. First of all, you must be enrolled in the Master Practitioner program.  See:  www.mbtimasterpractitioner.org/
  2. Sign up on the CE clipboard when it comes   to your table during the meeting.
  3. Be sure to list your email address, and whether or not your are a member (CEs are free to BAAPT members; Guests must pay   $15 per morning program).
  4. The CE Coordinator will email you a special evaluation form to fill out and return.
  5. When you've returned that form, a CE Certificate will be sent to you via email.

APTi has recently overhauled its website.  In addition, they have posted
the first of the 'MIT' talks given during the August 2011 APT XIX International Conference in San Francisco.  Three videos are in the queue which comprise Judah Pollack's presentation on "Millennials."

Remembering Bill Yabroff

Picture
by Karen Keefer
BAAPT mourns the loss of one of its founders, Professor William Yabroff, who passed away October 6, 2011 after a brief bout with pancreatic cancer.

Bill was one of the Bay Area “type enthusiasts” who, discovering each other at the 1983 APT Conference at Stanford, thought it would be great fun to continue meeting up to talk Type.  Many in the chapter will remember him as the creator of “type imagery,” the use of guided imagery within the framework of psychological type.  He brought his type awareness into his graduate classes in counseling psychology at Santa Clara University (he co-founded that department at SCU), as well as his advising of graduate students at the Fielding Institute.

Bill’s deep insights, profound understanding of Type and of Jung, calm INFP presence, and great smile will be much missed.  8 Feb 2012
